Cardinals came back to get their second win of the season. Luckily Franklin didn't blow this one in the 9th.

Re: 3/31 - 4/10 Game Discussion Thread
Top pitching prospect in baseball (yes I said it), Michael Pineda pitched great in his debut against the Power Rangers, only giving up one lousy hit through the first 5 innings, and the only hit he gave up a triple, would have been cought by our normal CF Gutierrez. However, he surrendered 2 runs in the 5th, on a couple doubles in the gap, at least one of which would have been cought by Gutierrez as well.
So all in all a great pitching performance against the best offense in baseball, no one has been able to silence their bats, until Pineda. 6 innings, 4 K's, 5 H, 1 BB, 3 ER, and only 84 pitches for him in his first career game against a great offensive team. I can't wait to see what this kid can do against a team like the Royals, A's, or Indians. If the rest of baseball wanted to know what it would be like to have two Felix Hernandez's in the same rotation, with the risk of facing them on back-to-back days their going to find out.
P.S. Hurry up and get your *** back to the field Gutierrez!
And his defense did him no favors. Those were considered earned runs, but Wilson and Saunders both cost him those three runs with mental mistakes. Saunders in center is a nightmare!Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: 3/31 - 4/10 Game Discussion Thread
Yeah no doubt. And someone will have to explain to me why Langergans is on the roster over a guy like Mike Wilson? It makes absolutely no sense to platoon two left handed bats, which is basically what Langerhans, and Saunders are doing. Wilson is right handed, and has done nothing but hit in the minors and spring training. I would love to see him get his shot, even if his potential is that of a Marcus Thames type player. It's still way better than what Langerhans is giving us. I just can't stand Langerhans, the only good thing he does is take pitches, he is well below average at everything else he does.Last edited by Claymaker52; 04-05-2011, 11:39 PM.Comment

So that guy that got beat up after the Dodgers/Giants game might have brain damage.
That's one of the saddest things I've ever heard. Go to the ballpark to catch a game and get that.Comment

This is completely and utterly disgusting, and unfortunate. I have to think the people involved are probably gang affiliated in some way, taking into account the viciousness, and brutality of it. LA is one of the most gang infested cities in the US. Which is unfortunate for the Dodgers and their great, well mannered fans. However, something like this put's a black eye on the entire organization, as well as their fans. I do admit, I don't know all of the facts, but that's kind of what it sounds like to me.Last edited by Claymaker52; 04-05-2011, 11:51 PM.Comment

Re: 3/31 - 4/10 Game Discussion Thread
I think every team has those kind of fans, but from what I've been hearing on the radio the past couple of days, not too many Padre fans have had a great experience at Dodger Stadium because of the Dodger fans who attend the games. There are a ton of well-mannered fans out there, but it's always the delinquents that ruin things for everyone.Comment

But anyways, this is the reason, they should ban alcoholic beverages at all sports stadiums in North America, as well as Soccer stadiums in Europe, but that may cause a riot in Ireland. When it comes down to it alchol is usually the #1 cause of most fan fights at stadiums.
The problem is that Dodger Stadium has fan problems. They have no real police enforcement to control and deter, either. I go there multiple times a season and there's hardly anything stopping anyone from committing a crime like this. The lots are huge.
And comparing a guy who may very well have brain damage to Philly fans throwing snow at Santa is absurd.Comment

Never really had problem when going to Yankee Stadium or Shea Stadium when comes to the Subway Series, most Yankee fans I met were well mannered. Only time I had problem it involved alcohol (guy was drunk and wanted to start a problem with my pops). Unfortunately this incident probably involved alcohol.Mets/Giants/Knicks/Rangers/Manchester United/Notre Dame Football
