Padres baseball! 18 innings, no runs!
Even Adrian Gonzalez wouldn't make a difference in this lineup.Comment

Molina catches the Reds sleeping on the basepaths to end the Reds half of the 8th, big out there as they had 2 men on with 2 outs.
Cards lead 4-2 heading to the bottom of the 8th.Favorite Teams:

Good game from the Cards last night....Loving Lance Berkman more and more, dude is just a baseball player.
Also, I believe one day Sanchez is going to be our closer, love his flare, that's what you need in a closer, also helps he has a mean *** fastball. Didn't have the slide piece working that well last night though.

Effin Quade....
bottom 5, Bases loaded, 2 outs, 1 run lead...and Dempster at the plate...no pinch-hitter, reliever on the mound just walked 2 in a row...
Nevermind that Dempster gave up 3 in the previous inning...and what happens?
Lead off homer for the Dodgers...game tied....2 hitters later, triple by Gwynn, jr....

Sanchez is just awesome to watch, like you said he didn't have everything working for him last night but after a walk to load the bases he gets out of it only letting 1 run in by getting a sac fly and a fly out, he is going to be really good. Boggs is a good option out there for now but Sanchez has the potential to be a closer that teams fear and there aren't a lot of those around anymore. So glad Tony finally removed Franklin from closer though, he just doesn't have it this year.
Definitely need Carp to get it going today, he hasn't got a lot of run support in his starts but he hasn't been his usual self either, this would be a great time for him to have a great start against Cincy but not sure what I'm expecting heading into todays game.
I have to admit I've been pleasantly surprised by the rotation, Jaime has been great, McClellan has really impressed me, Lohse has actually been looking good, Westbrook has unfortunately been about what I expected he would (although his ERA will level off as the year goes on, at least I hope!), and Carp hasn't really done much yet, if he can get it going we can be scary this year.Favorite Teams:

Re: 4/18 - 4/24 Game Discussion Thread
Believe it or not but all these close games and pressure situations are going to pay off for the Jays as early as next year. The more a team goes through those kind of situations the more accustomed they are to performing when the stakes are high. To use an example from the past the 1968 NY Mets were involved in TONS of close games which paid off for them the following year as they went on to win the World Series. I'm not saying that's gonna happen to the Jays but they'll be better served for being involved in pressure packed games.
A couple things to note about today:
- Despite a slow and somewhat laborious start I thought Morrow performed quite well. He got 10 Ks and was only pulled when he was due to pitch count considerations
- Boy am I glad the Jays have Jose Bautista! I don't know where this team would be without this guy. He's not only proving himself to be one of the best players in baseball but he's the heart and soul of this Jays team. He's only 3 more hits/walks away from tying the Jays record for most consecutive times reaching base safely.
- Who the hell is Sam Fuld?! This guy is really impressing the hell out of me. I think I heard he came from the Cubs? If that's the case i'm sure Cubs fans are wondering how they let this guy get away. He's truly a revelation and fits the mold of a Joe Maddon type player.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Good news - I'm getting the Giants/Braves as the Fox game of the week.
Bad news - It doesn't appear to be in HD...anyone else getting an SD feed? It's hard to look at!"People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers HornsbyComment
