So I answered my own questiong...

They were 17-8 after April in 2003, and 12-11 after April in 2009.

That 2003 team had Beltran, Ibanez, and a 29yr old Sweeney.

For once a pitcher actually had a chance to have an in-game ERA lower than his BAC level, but that quickly ended when Holliday doubled in the first.

2009 is why I have a hard time believing in this years team. They were 18-11 on May 7th, and finished 65-97. I can't get that season out of my head, and until it's August and the Royals are still above .500, I won't believe they have a shot at .500+.


The 2003 team also had Angel Berroa, who ended up winning RoY, and then doing absolutely nothing the rest of his career. haha

Detroit up 3-2 now in the top of the 8th over the Indians. Laporta had a lead off double in the 7th and Sizemore and Cabrera came up empty after Laporta got moved over to 3rd base on an Adam Everett bunt.
