For some reason i have believed for the past couple of years that there is something wrong with his elbow. Maybe it's because of the rapid loss in velocity when he should be getting better. A year off couldn't hurt, especially if he can land with the right team even if it means re-inventing himself as either a reliever or a junkball pitcher. He is left handed so as long as he can get outs there will always be a chance for him somewhere.

I think that might do wonders for him.
      NFL: Indianapolis Colts (12-6)
      NBA: Indiana Pacers (42-13)
      MLB: Cincinnati Reds (0-0)
      NHL: Detroit Red Wings (26-20-12)
NCAA: Purdue Boilermakers (FB: 1-11, BB: 15-12), Michigan Wolverines (FB: 7-6, BB: 19-7, H: 15-10-3)

I'm in total agreement with both of you. Something is definitely not right with him, and I think a year off would be a great thing for him.
