Had to work late tonight and missed the game, but a HUGE win for the Braves. The Phils are doing work this week and were about to run away with this...it's seems like we batted an eye and went from 2.5 to 5 games back. Brooks Conrad has a knack for the dramatic. If I was a pitcher he would never see a fastball...ever.

Honestly man. I was watching MLBN last night and they mentioned that we were now 5 back. I was like "when did THIS happen?". I guess losing 3 straight to Houston/NY combined can do that for you.

Don't look now, but these Pirates are actually a solid ballclub this year. Great stretch of schedule here before the brutal end of the year.

Clint Hurdle really turned them around. Nice to see them playing good baseball.

They're a fun, young team to watch. Wish I had the EI or MLB.tv package so I could check out all these teams (including my own, lol)

Clint Hurdle is a pretty good manager in my books. He really fits into what the Pirates are FINALLY trying to do by building a team with a solid nucleus and locking up some young guys long term.

I'm glad to see him having some success as it seemed his departure from Colorado was a bit rocky (no pun intended)

Yeah, we went through all that in the Spring Training thread. It all goes back to the Santana debacle. Disgusting.

Twins have been red hot as of late 11-2 since June 2nd, now we get Nishioka and Mauer back. Things are starting to look up.

No joke...the Phils playing the Marlins this week did us no favors, but we are really not playing the Mets well lately.

On another note, it was hilarious last night on Conrad's homer that KRod is pointing at it like it was an infield pop up...

Uh-oh. Tonight against the Rockies, Alex Avila is slated to play third base for the first time since playing college ball at Alabama. It'll be interesting to see how he handles the hot corner behind a groundball pitcher (Rick Porcello) on the mound. This could get ugly fast.

so yea, MLB, don't black me out on MLB.tv if I don't get the Rangers broadcast. I only get disAstros games, not Rangers.

I swear MLB is the worst out of all the major sports when it comes to this

He has looked alright so far and did play some 3b in college. I think your being a little bit dramatic here, unfortunately Porcello is pitching like crap tonight.
