Skip has been really struggling of late so hopefully this can help get him back on track.

Other topics to touch on, hopefully Pujols wrist is ok, the Cards medical staff is saying its a sprained wrist right now but they have been wrong a lot so I'll just expect the worst for now.

Another blown save but at least we didn't lose this one, the number of blown saves this year is extremely worrisome although Salas has been pretty good for us as closer so I'm not too worried at the moment. Definitely need him to keep doing well though, it would be nice to not need to make a move for a closer at the deadline, we need a starting pitcher badly though and I hope we can add one and maybe move McClellan back into the bullpen as setup man.

I hope the Marlins hire the mascot as the new manager

I'm sure it's crossed Loria's mind to not even have a manager to save $$$

Albert Pujols has left the game today due to a wrist injury, suffered in a collision at first base with Wilson Betemit.

Looked like he was in a whole lot of pain.

That's not good to hear. Wrist injuries are a funny thing, they can really screw a player up not only for the season but long term as well. Hopefully he won't have any long term effects.

I'm sure it's crossed Loria's mind to not even have a manager to save $$$

LOL! While watching the Jays game today they were talking about the Marlins situation and Pat Tabler was saying how Jack Mckean is actually waiting for a call as he would like to go back into managing....The guy is 80 freakin' years old! Tabler has some insight into some of these things as he has Cincy connections.


Anyways tough loss for the Jays today as Villanueva made one mistake and it ended up costing them the game. Arroyo actually pitched quite well so I have to tip my hat to him. 2 out of 3 ain't bad but man, i'd have liked to have seen a sweep.

I couldn't even tell you, they do have some young guys such as LoMo/Stanton/Gaby/Coghlan,etc. but mixed in with vetarans such as Hanley/Infante,etc. Hanley was sucking and I believe kept trying to play through injuries, JJ out, only pitcher doing anything at all for us is Anibal Sanchez.

Basically the whole team is in one big slump besides guys like Anibal and Gaby, LoMo and Stanton are doing about what they should imo for their 1st real season in the Bigs

At least we won one. That said, we need the Phils to start losing some games. The Phils lead the NL East by the largest margin (5.5 games) of any division in baseball. I would love to a 1-9 ten game stretch by the Phils.

Verlander great again. I can't believe the Tigers coming to town brought the only 2 non opening day sell outs at Coors this year. I'm sure fathers day had nothing to do with it

BTW - what the Twins have done to get back in the AL Central is just amazing. From 16.5 to 7.5 back in the blink of an eye.

Yeah man..that's 13 blown saves already...and on our starting pitching, have no idea what happen to them..Maybe we should give Kazmir a chance. OR do we call the Cubs for Big Z?
