Re: 7/4 - 7/10 Game Discussion Thread
It's only the beginning. Tomorrow they will analyze his swing, the flight trajectory of the ball, the personal information of the fan that caught the ball. There will be an interview with Jeter and David Price. Jorge Posada will also be interviewed. Someone in AAA will be asked how Jeter had a huge affect on him wanting to be a ballplayer. Cashman will smile. A blog will be posted about Jeter being the worst 3,000 hitter in MLB history. A blog will be posted about Jeter being the best 3,000 hitter in MLB history. Pete Rose will come up.
That's just Sunday.
Wait till Tuesday.
Honestly, though, you're probably dead-on with that. Darn.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

First off, Rose would have been a first ballot HOF'r if not for his off the field discretions. Secondly, not everyone with 3,000 hits, 500 HR, 300 wins gets in...I doubt McGwire, Sosa, Palmerio, or Clemens sniff the HOF."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. But seriously, congrats to the Captain. Nice to know I had the chance to watch many of those hits as a fan of the team."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Lol, OK. If you say so. But to be honest I am not saying that when I said he would get in the hall now. I am saying you can't argue it at all now. Even from old school people. 3,000 hit is automatic in!Comment
