Not sure what the plan would be, but this suggests that we would try: http://twitter.com/#!/d_a_cameron/st...03863907381249

If the Phils are willing to trade Singleton for League or Adams, I offer them Koji ASAP.

Rizzo needs to be sent down instead of sitting on the bench to work on things. He was called up way too early (again, the Padres not thinking clearly and making a move just to appease some fickle fans on the radio). Ludwick might still be traded as I think it's more likely that Blanks will be taking LF for the majority of his stint this time. Hopefully he can be the 2009 Blanks and not the disastrous 2010 one. Jesus Guzman should be the first basemen until he starts regressing.

If we're trading with Cleveland I really wonder what we're getting back. I'd wonder if Tony Wolters would be available.

Worley is 6-1 with a 2.02 ERA. The Astros are probably going to trade Wandy Rodriguez and want a Major League ready replacement. Even though former Phillie pitchers have not faired well pitching for the Astros, the Astros keep trying to get them.

Why trade him now? Not only is he not having a good season, but he would not be nearly enough.
I don't see the pressing need for an outfielder as much as a reliever.
According to Ken Rosenthal Astros GM Ed Wade has been told to listen to offers for everyone and trade anyone that he thinks will be the "best baseball move". It sounds almost like an attempt at gutting the team before the new ownership takes over completely.

I guess I can understand that.. Since This Is Pence were talking about I'd just assume they'd want Cosart or Singleton as the main pieces in any deal. Gotta Remember Haap also had a similar year Worley is having. In '09 Haap was 12-4 w/ a 2.93 ERA.

Mike Adams and Heath Bell will bring back the biggest haul as far as prospects are concerned. Ludwick, who even though he is the Padres leader in HR's (11, 6 more than anyone else) and RBI's (61, 29 more than anyone else) is having a down year ad probably won't bring back more than 1 player and likely a player to be named later.
Not really sure what Cleveland is offering but it probably won't be any of their top tier prospects

On a side note: Rizzo was sent down to make room for Blanks.

They may still want one or both of those players. The Astros are not going to give Pence away and are going to command a heavy price for him, Worley just happens to be in the ML right now and is pitching well which is probably what makes him a prime target for a team that has had terrible pitching all year.

As long as Ed Wade is the GM in Houston the Phillies will probably always have the inside edge on any trades for Astros players.

With Madson, Bastardo and Stutes in the bullpen, I think getting an outfielder is a no-brainer. Before the season I would have thought differently, but the bullpen has done so well so far, and Ibanez has well... pretty much played like a zombie

Honestly, even though it was a bad contract the Phillies got two solid seasons out of Ibanez. I think just about everyone expected this to be the bad year of the deal since he is 39 now and was never a great Outfielder to begin with.

I would not rule out the possibility of the Phillies inquiring about Brandon Inge. With Placido Polanco's back being an issue the Phillies could use the help and Inge could hit for decent power in Philly.

No thanks to Inge. I'd take a risk and hope Polanco gets healthy and get a good outfielder

I dont know about that. 1 homerun, .462 OPS. He's been historically bad. He wouldn't last a day in Philadelphia. With those fans, and the pressure, it would be ugly. You guys would go nuts about him. His check swing strikeouts will bring you to tears day after day.

If he's claimed and doesn't go to the minors, he's gonna need a low pressure place if he wants any chance to find whatever stroke he had. The marlins are interested. He has horrible at bats, no confidence, he doesn't even hit the ball remotely hard when he does hit it. It was the worst half of baseball I've ever seen from a Tiger.

He would get eaten alive in Philly though. He's treated like a God in Detroit, and even they boo'd him like crazy after a while. After his first check swing K, he would have death threats with the Phillies.

You'd be better off giving some random minor leaguer a shot than the corpse of Inge.

You know baseball people though, they almost universally prefer a "name," regardless of suckitude, over an unknown.

Inge isn't even a "name" though. The only people who thought he was a "name" are the thousands of Tiger fans ages 14-25 who magically popped up during the 2006 season.

                              Oh, and Dave Dombrowski.

Inge was a solid player from 2004 to 2006. He hit .287, .263, .250 those years with some decent power, and played a great 3rd base.

But he fell into a slump in 2007, finally broke out of it in 2009, then fell back into it 3 months later, then fell farther into it. I dont think you can call it a slump anymore.

He had his time here. He stayed a few years late, but I think Illitch played a huge part in that, and it was out of Dombrowski's hands.
