Re: 2011 MLB Trade Deadline Thread
I wouldn't part with Span unless we got more. Ben Revere isn't a guy who I would want in the starting lineup, OPS and OPB are terrible especially for a guy hitting leadoff.1905 1921 1922 1933 1954 2010 2012

Re: 2011 MLB Trade Deadline Thread
They're a continuation of his minor league track record.
His average is bound to go up, but that will only make his line slightly less abysmal.
Over his last 1,300 plate appearances he has 90 BB (well below average walk rate) and just 45(!) XBH. Like every other "I can run fast" player before him, speed can only do so much for you the higher up the professional ladder you go.Last edited by snepp; 07-27-2011, 06:31 PM.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: 2011 MLB Trade Deadline Thread
Not Possible.
Though I do wonder what you're expectations were of Corey to begin with.
Not sure he was even expected to make the club out of Spring Training.
And to keep it on topic. Jim Hendry has still done nothing.Comment

Re: 2011 MLB Trade Deadline Thread
Ian Desmond and Wilson Ramos are out of the Nats' lineup, Steve Lombardozzi out of AAA Syrcause's lineup. Is a trade on the way?
EDIT: Obviously Ramos won't be traded, but Desmond and Upton might.Comment

There are indications the Phillies would include Dom Brown in a trade for Pence:

If the Beltran for Wheeler trade goes through...I'd be thrilled.
A top tier pitcher for a rent-a-player is a good trade IMO.
Wheeler has a great fastball. He just needs some polishing.
Nice move Sandy!
