I like that deal for the Cards, anything is really better than Theriot or Schumaker.

The Twins want Roger Bernadina along with a reliever in any deal that sends Span to the Nationals:

Clippard and Bernadina would be a nice haul for Span IMO but I think the Twins should ask for another piece.

Mike Aviles to Boston for infielder Yamaico Navarro and pitcher Kendal Volz.

That's a good return for Aviles.

Way to good of a return. I don't know WTF Theo was thinking. It only makes sense as a precursor to another deal, but then again it doesn't make sense because who really wants Aviles more than Navarro?

I'm hearing both Chicago teams are done. Would need to be wowed for a deal to happen.(In regards to their big pieces, Quentin,Thornton, Ramirez, Pena)

Let's hope Hanley stays put. As a Reds fan, I'd crap my pants.
I'm a Hanley fan, but seeing him tear up my Reds in a Cards uniform would break my heart.

I can't imagine St. Louis would be able to put together a package for Hanley..

Nationals are making headway with the Twins on a deal for Denard Span. The Twins are insisting Storen be included along with a second player:

The Diamondbacks are close to acquiring Jason Marquis:

Nope, but they are close enough that both teams are asking Furcal to waive his no-trade clause. We'll probably find out soon.

Which makes sense if it is. Jack Z and various sources say its a significant prospect that will be named by August 20. When are significant prospects PTBNL in trades? When they're not yet eligible to be traded. Smyly isn't eligible to be traded at the moment, but is starting on August 16.

Then again, it could be anyone from last year's draft.

Rockies have lowered their price down a bit- they are no longer asking for Manny Banuelos from the Yankees; Dellin Betances, Ivan Nova, and Jesus Montero would work. The Yankees are still saying no, though. The Rockies have a scout watching Nova tonight:

Yankees fans, Rockies fans, would you do that deal?

Source says PTBNL in the #Mariners #Tigers trade is indeed one Detroit's top 3 picks from 2010 draft. Can't be traded until signed for 1 yr

That means Castellanos (not going anywhere, especially since Martinez got traded, not like he would anyway), Chance Ruffin, or Smyly.
