Major, major props to Frank Wren.

Per mlbtr... Hou gets J Schafer, lhp Brett Oberholtzer, rhp Paul Clemens & rhp Juan Abreu.

Not a single top prospect! And we never have to see Schafer again!

This completely. No top 50 prospects for a huge upgrade at the weakest position on the team.

I think the Astros wanted Depth more than 1 single Blue Chip prospect.

Not a great haul but them but it was decent IMO.

Oberholtzer was the only one that the Braves truly valued and Schafer is nothing without PEDs

This completely. No top 50 prospects for a huge upgrade at the weakest position on the team.

And think about how many GMs insisted on Teheran, Vizcaino, Delgado, and Minor EVERY time they talked to Wren. I feel like the more you have in your system, the harder it is to make competing GMs think about other young talent. And Wren did that, to address 2 spots of major weakness ... a great center fielder, and a table setter the likes of a Rafael Furcal or an Otis Nixon in his prime. That's how long it's been since the Braves had a true speed table setter, and Bourne is all those things.

Can't wait to see him suit up in Atlanta!
