Would Rangers trade with someone inside their own division again? They're talking to A's about Andrew Bailey.

Brewers rumored to be talking with the Royals about Wilson Betemit.

Re: 2011 MLB Trade Deadline Thread
Betemit would be brought in to serve as a utility player/pinch hitter not an everyday player so it probably would not be that bad. The Brewers do seem to lack punch off the bench and Betemit has hit well as a PH in his career.Comment

Re: 2011 MLB Trade Deadline Thread
Basically every decent prospect left in the Yankees system.
I doubt that the Rockies are going to trade Ubaldo, but if they were to consider it it would have to be for a package such as this.
Instead of emptying out the farm system to try and land a big arm ala Jimenez or Felix Hernandez the Yankees should maybe try to hold on to guys like Betances/Banuelos/Nova since they have seen it is not so easy to buy quality arms these days.Comment

Re: 2011 MLB Trade Deadline Thread
I would be happy if they got Ubaldo to be honest.
Yeah he been inconsistent but hes still only 27 and has shown he can be a real talent.
I would trade Montero, Nova, and ONE of the Killer B's, not both.Comment

Re: 2011 MLB Trade Deadline Thread
Personally I think Ubaldo if he's traded needs to go to a market where the spotlight isn't going to be shining on him the way it would if he went to the Yankees. The guy is clearly having confidence issues and it's showing in his production on the mound. I fear that Ubaldo would be a spectacular failure in the Bronx and he would be another Javier Vasquez.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Rumors swirling around Marlins potentially dealing Anibal Sanchez or Ricky Nolasco, don't see either deal happening unless they get a deal they can't refuse. As they are seemingly trying to increase payroll going in to new stadium and supposedly want to be big spenders in Free Agency this yearSaints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Re: 2011 MLB Trade Deadline Thread
No way I'm doing that. That's a package you give up for a sure thing ace, like King Felix. Jiminez had a ridiculous first half last year, and since then has been decent, not great.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

There's speculation the Jays may go after Rasmus but I wouldn't expect Anthopolous to give away any important pieces to acquire anyone.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Even though Beltran is having a nice season, I kinda hope the Phils' give John Mayberry extended playing time instead of going after him.Comment
