There was a good article in the local Cleveland paper about that. John Hart was the same way back in the 90s, refusing to trade Cleveland's best prospects, i.e Jared Wright. Some of the pieces that could have been brought in for those guys, that never really turned out, could have given Cleveland the WS in 1997.

Re: TRADE DEADLINE CANDIDATE: Ubaldo Jimenez
Jays may not be done. They picked up Teahan, a huge contract at 3B, when they already have Bautista there AND Lawrie up and coming any day now? That makes no sense to me. I think they have some players they received to use as trade bait.
Jays could definitely be the most active team, which is very odd for them"Undaunted, I knew the game was mine to win. Just like in life, ALL of my successes depend on me. I'm the man who has the ball, I'm the man who can throw it faster than heck. So that is why I am better than everyone in the world."

Re: TRADE DEADLINE CANDIDATE: Ubaldo Jimenez
I see Lawrie being everyday 3B, Bautista RF, Thames may be sent down. Teahan is a versitile bench guy (1B,3B,LF,RF). There's room for him but maybe not for Thames. Then again Teahan could be DFA as there are too many lefties on team (Rasmus, Snider, Lind, Thames, Teahan).
And the Jays Roster WAS primarily right handed before Thames was called up (Escobar, Bautista, Hill, Arencibia, Davis), they've been going Lefty/Righty through their entire line-up the last 3 games.
But Thames isn't going anywhere, he's been their best player the last few weeks. To me the odd man out in the OF would have to be Rajai Davis. Hitting just .230 isn't getting the job done. Yes, he can steal a game for you on the bases, but if you can't hit, you can't play in the majors. I just don't see Teahan playing anywhere other than filling in for days off and injuries. They already have John McDonald as a utility guy. I think they still have a move or two planned, they have to.Comment
