low and inside... hmm... that'd be in McCovey Cove if you threw it for a strike, the guy will not chase that pitch.

Exactly, Bonds crushes the ball low and inside, your best shot is high and away and hope the blue gives you the call. Problem is nobody pitches him away (except for way out - away) cuz they put that dramatic overshift on.

No, they ALWAYS pitch him away... even for strikes. I watch Giants games daily, and get quite frusterated to see him always be pitched away from... or better yet... getting walked.

The only place you can really safely pitch Bonds is up and in, right under his hands. You really have to bury it there, though, and if you miss just a bit, he'll crush it.

Bonds factor, my ***! The Marlins just won the game thanks to their strategy, which payed off. Just like last year.
I applaud Redman going after him, and at times other Fish Pitchers. Redman to Boids: Can't touch this! Oh..
To Redman, he's just another player on 'Roids.

It doesn't matter whether you let the ball hit you or not, wearing that armor gives you an advantage. He is comfortable with standing on the plate because he knows he has protection. You take that armor away, I guarantee you he won't be as close, and his play would be affected by it.
