Yeah, as a lineup/in the field I don't think the Jays are all that far away. The only HUGE question marks are LF, 2B (don't know/think that Aaron Hill will be around next year) and possibly DH. (unless Encarnacion stays simply as a DH) If the Jays can address those holes and add depth to the bench and somehow have a better bullpen (PLEASE GOD WE NEED A CLOSER!) then this team will be pretty interesting in 2012.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Well the Jays made quite a few changes:
- Jon Rauch is on the 15 day DL after an appendectomy in Seattle
- Trevor Miller has been DFA'ed
- The contracts of Wil Ledezma and Rommie Lewis have been bought from triple A Las VegasMember of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Congrats Thome! In my opinion it's a shame this isn't getting much more attention. I get it, it's because he's not in a big Market like BOS, NY or even CHI. But still what a great accomplishment this is. Loved Thome when he was in CLE.

To me Jim Thome is the Mike Gartner of baseball. For those that don't know Mike Gartner was a very good hockey player who was very steady and dependable but at the end of the day when people looked at his stats they'd go "WTF! He scored THAT many goals?!". Jim Thome is exactly the same way. You think of him as a very dependable hitter and a guy who can be counted on to put up good numbers every year but you don't really think "600 HR guy" but alas, he's hit 600 out of the ballpark.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
