I believe they've had 72 runs in 11 games this year against us coming in to tonight. I was expecting the absolute worst.

Even though this one wasn't totally his fault, you simply can't put Valverde in there in non-save opportunities. Just can't. Hell I'd rather let Don Kelly pitch.

I wish Leyland hadn't gotten that extension, he's been managing pretty questionably. Idunno, there probly isn't a better option anyway

Lol. Jim Leyland managing questionably? We get a .300 hitter to replace Inge, and Leyland plays him 3 times a week. We trade for him because Kelly can't handle playing too much, but he manages to play him more than Betemit. It's a joke. And Betemit has done nothing but hit! .350 with RISP but Don Kelly and his .230 batting average plays more. Leyland is in love with Kelly, it's so frustrating.

Then playing Dirks. Jackson had like 2-3 hits yesterday? Dirks can't hit, especially not leading off.

And I'm not sure if Valverde has pitched in a non save situation this year without giving up runs. Leyland is a horrible manager who has done nothing positive this season. If the Tigers find a way to win the division, it will be in spite of him. Even though Verlander could pitch sunday agaisnt the Indians on normal days rest, he wont do it! He instead will throw Porcello and his 5+ ERA agaisnt the team that is 3 games back. No sense of urgency, never has been.

A couple of weeks ago agaisnt the Texas Rangers, and one of the best pitchers in the AL (Ogando) he started ALL 4 OF HIS BENCH PLAYERS! In a pennant race? Your whole bench? How many managers give games away like that with a 3 game lead in August? I can't believe he got an extension.

Even the umpires were horrible tonight. They blew a call in the 9th inning off Revere's bunt, that changed the rest of the inning. And Santiago was clearly out in like the 3rd inning, he was tagged 3 different times and still called safe.
