Im not questioning whether he hit him on purpose or not. Rather Im pointing out that it is possible that it was an accident. I acknowledge that it was likely Pedro was trying to send a message. However, I feel the larger issue is all the whining and crying and fingerpointing taking place in the New York camp is hypocritical. Its understandable for Joe Torre to be biased but as long as hes going to be the media, ie Fox needs to quit characterizing Torre as the classy, good guy. Chances are that Pedro was throwing at him but with Clemens on the other side all bets are off.

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

Yea your right, I do agree with that. Torre used to complain about Clemens hitting people before he became a Yankee too.

And I can't believe some of you guys saying the Yankees should have attacked Pedro. This is the playoffs, not the regular season. Every game is so important. You don't risk suspensions and ejections to take a shot at someone. They might Kick Pedro's ***, and be pretty happy about it. And then when the Red Sox are playing in the World Series because of key Yankees being ejected, they'll be the ones laughing.

Speaking of clouded judgment, I guess well just ignore the slew of ignorant remarks by NY fans about Pedro giving Zimmer the ole treatment and portraying it to be such that Pedro was wrong. All youre doing is piling on because of the pitch behind Garcia and the heated words with the Yankees dugout.

As a Cub fan that has occurred to me several times much the same as it did when that idiot Nelson was holding his hand after that confrontation with the Groundskeeper. I would have loved it if Nelson would have broken a finger.

Once you establish your OPINION on Roger Clemens and the rest of the Yankees, Yankee nation just piles on you without mercy.

Come on. I certainly do believe that in order to be a Yankee fan, you have to be ready at all costs to defend Clemens and his actions.

I knew once I posted my OPINION on Clemens, I'd get flamed.

Oh well..Yankee fans are something else.

Your OPINIONS on Clemens are irrelevant to this situation. Yes, he's a headhunter who hides behind the DH rule. No, he did nothing wrong last night. More than just Yankee fans told you that. I hate the Yankees. Stop playing your little 'poor me' hand. It's gotten moldy.

They were both in the wrong. Zimmer shouldn't be running out there, that's for sure. But Pedro could have easily stepped out of the way, or just grabbed him and pushed him a little. But nope, he grabbed his head and slammed him to the ground, and then stared at him like he was a bigshot.

Pedro more or less did easily sidestep him by grabbing his ears and shepharding Zimmer to the side. Pedro grabbed his head because Zimmer is around 5 feet tall. I also didnt get the impression that Pedro felt like a bigshot. I dont even see how a biased Yankee fan would perceive that. Besides like i said before, Zimmers age is irrelevent. Pedro could have broken Zimmer in half but didnt. Zimmer should thank Pedro.
