This should be a great series and the Sox have a definite chance to win. The sox bullpen has come along way and I think you could say the Yanks bullpen is a wildcard. It pains me to say that the Yanks have a good starting rotation but it certainly isn't the greatest. The Sox batted .279 as a team versus NY in the regular season with 26 HRs and 106 RBI. Thats not too bad

Nomar's homer off Pedro. Those four words just shouldn't go together. Not even on a day like 6/6/6. ~Bill Simmons -
Re: Yankees vs Redsox Thread
Well, the Sox is throwing out Wakefield for game 1 (probably) against Mussina. Lowe on VERY short rest for game 2 vs. Pettite. Martinez game 3 vs. Clemens. Burkett vs. Wells game 4. just based on those starting matchups, gotta give the edge to NYY. The way I see this series playing out will be determined by how well game 1 goes for the Sox. The Sox's bullpen is TIRED, both emotionally and physically. Wakefield HAS to go and give them 7-8 quality innings to give the pen a rest (a CG if at all possible). If this doesn't happen, I see only 1 way the Sox can win this series, and it's with their bat. The pitching basically won them the series vs. the A's... the bats will have to come alive to beat the Yanks. Just my 2 cents.

Someone was gonna post this eventually so why not me. Mussina, Clemons, Pettite, Wells, they are just too much for the Sox to handle.

Um, no... that doesn't fly. I'd take the Sox ability to hit over that short list of dinosaurs you've got there. The Red Sox are due to put up some runs. There will be some high scoring slug-fests in this series. Too bad the Sox can't clone Lowe and use him to start and close.Comment
