Re: 9/19 - 9/28 Game Discussion Thread
It's crazy how the starting pitching has just collapsed for them, particularly the Beckett/Lester combo. But they just haven't gotten it all together this whole month. When they get a solid pitching performance (rare as it has been) their offense hasn't been there and their defense has been terrible, 20+ errors this month and a slew of plays that weren't errors but could've been made.
Firing Francona would be silly. He's given them 2 WS titles, handles the media pressure in Boston as well as anyone can imagine, and is just one year removed from one of his best managing jobs with that injury-riddled team last year.
Red Sox better win these next two games because TB should probably take these next two with Colon being terrible since the ASB and the Yanks will almost definitely not be playing their regulars tomorrow vs. David Price.Comment

Maybe I read the wrong scouting report, because Jacoby being a 30+ homer guy is a shock in my world. You do know Ellsbury was young, and injured all those other years right? Not played a full season?
My comment makes perfect sense... Granderson benefits from the lineup, as well as Ellsbury benefiting and both going into their prime.
Ellsbury is finally 100% healthy. He is living up to EXACTLY what he has been scouted as his entire career. It is no shock in the baseball world. Really.Comment

I think it's hilarious that the Yankees can play September call ups if they want to screw over the Red Sox.Comment

If the Astros win today and thus win the series I am going to cry myself to sleep for the next two weeks.Comment
