Who the hell cares? They're out there to win, regardless.
And Bastardo was warming up I think. It just didn't seem right to have a rookie out there late in the game.
Luckily it's paid off.

Bastardo was a rookie this year..

And I'd much rather pitch guys who won't be on the playoff roster and save (rest) the guys who will in a meaningless game..

I'm not saying the Pirates would've won that game had the call at home been correct, but it's funny how you look back at all the games this season, and realize that those wins and losses the very reason that you're at the exact place you are right now.

So you sit, and wonder... if he was correctly called out at the plate, and the Pirates eventually won that game... the Cardinals would be the NL Wild Card team right now.
