So, in 2 weeks, we might be done with baseball for the year. And the Braves looked like they could finally win again this year.

While I certainly hope they can get the deal done before the 30th, I'm just not seeing it happening. I just don't have faith in the Players Union and the Owners to be smart for a change and get a deal done. One of the 2 will obviously have to give something up, and from their comments, I don't think either is willing to(comments could be just an act to sway the other side though). They're both greedy, not just the players.

I love baseeball to death, but they are REALLY pissing me off. I'm just sick of hearing about it. Go on strike, never come back and i'll just go watch the AAA and A teams down the road. Those guys don't seem to care about money.

The only good I see of this is that setting the strike date usually means that they DON'T want to strike, and it's an incentive to get negotiations going a little better. And I don't really know if it's the players so much as it is Don Fehr that's causing all the problems (dumb *******).

I hate to say it, but I'd love to see the Devil Rays and the D-Backs fold after this season to maybe give the Union a kick in the butt. They might be a little more apt to negotiate when 50 MLB players could be unemployed.

I would think that setting a strike date would get negotiations going too, but from their history, I'm not hopeful. Everytime they've set a strike date in the past, they've gone on strike. I just don't see that changing. I'd love to be wrong though.

they have already worn it out in my book, this is about the players this time and not the owners, if it happens, I hope no one goes to the games next year

More then likely it will be the owners who give in again. They always seem to be the ones who cave. The owners nor the players give a crap about the fans. The fans are the ones who are getting screwed. If they do strike, I'm done watching them.
