So I pick it up and they are 2 black and white 8 x 10 photographs of the team pictures of the NY Yankees taken on the field at Yankee stadium. One is captioned with the 1951 World Champion Yankees and list the names of all the player underneath and the lettering style looks to be from the 50's. Mantle, Dimaggio and Berra(it actually says Larry Berra which I assume is his 1st name) are all there. And they did win the World Series in 1951.
The other one is even older. It has no printing on the picture but looks like it's the late 1930's Yankees because I recognize a young Dimaggio and Lou Gehrig but Babe Ruth isn't there so it must have between Ruth's and Gehrig's retirement.
They look like genuine photographs and not copies and are in pretty good shape, no folds or creases, and look old enough for the time period. I have no idea whether these are actually worth anything. Is there a website that estimates the value of sports memorabilia because I have no idea where I could go to get these appraised otherwise.
Anyone know whether I have a windfall on my hands or are they probably worth next to nothing?
