    Re: The Cubs Curse......

I am going to root for my Cubbies.. but you have to understand the devastion that most Cubs fans felt initially after the game!

From almost being in celebration mode.. to a total lost in a matter of minutes..... is really hard to take..

I like our chances.. but the momentum is fully on the Marlins side. Kerry has to pitch well... for at least 8 innings.

I was 11 years old and watched the 1984 collapse of the Cubs! Through hearing stories of past collapses... need I say 1969 great collapse.. We all embody this bad karma that follows the Cubs!
    Go Cubs!

I was 9 in 1969, that one hit me hard. I still despise the Mets. 1984 was pretty bad too, but actually not as disappointing to me as when the Sox lost to Baltimore in 1983. The Sox had such a great team that year

I am one of those freaks that roots for both teams but I am more of a Sox fan now. The whole circus atmosphere of the Cubs, 7th inning celebrities, expensive tickets, etc. has really turned me off in recent years. The Cell is just a much nicer/easier place to take my family to see a game.

But I am rooting for the Cubs to make it to the Series because it will raise the bar of baseball expectations in this town. Considering how the Sox under-achieved this year that is a good thing.

So I really hope that Kerry Wood takes this whole thing on his back tonight and pitches the Cubs into the Series. I have a feeling that tonight will be a 9-1 type game. Who will have the 9? I have no idea....

If Alou caught the ball, the momentum wouldntve been destroyed. I'm almost positive that Gonzalez muffled because he had it in his mind that everything is gonna go down hill.....the Alou thing was just a momentum killer. Both had big parts in everything but I'd be willing to be that if Alou was able to catch it, the error wouldntve occured.

I wish we could find out..
