The fan shouldn't get hurt because of this. Yes, I think he was really stupid, but that's life, the Cubbies shoulda been able to recover and not give up 8 damn runs in an inning. Gonzalez could have easily gotten that grounder and it'd all be a moot point now.

Everyone's ripping on Cubs' fans, but you know if this happened to the Yankees or Red Sox all those fans would be berating this fan just like the Cubs fans. I don't think the fan should get hurt, he just made a mistake, but he did contribute to the loss. The key to remember though, he wasn't the only reason, the Cubs lost that game themselves. I'm not a diehard Cubs fan, but I've got some friends who are, so I'm a minor Cubs fan (after the Tigers, yes, I'm masochistic)

As I said on the Cubs Curse thread. It's not the fan's fault, it's Alex Gonzalez. Here's my point:

Does anyone else realize that even if the fan didn't interfere the Cub's still would've lost??? What you are all missing is Gonzalez's error. THAT was the biggest blunder in that game. Suppose Alou makes the catch and Gonzalez still makes an error. Chances are the Marlins still score all those runs. Now if Alou makes the catch and Gonzalez fields the ball and gets an out, the Cubs walk away with a 3-1 lead.

give it up this guy has nothing to do what why the CUB's lost, they lost cause the Marlins played better bottom line. Stop hiding behind the fan and the curse thing, thats getting old. They lose cause the other team play better.

The Cubs fans are just looking for somebody to blame for that *** kicking that went on in the 8th. Kerry Wood better pitch the game of his life today. Cause if they win, the fan inncident will be all over, if not, dude is gonna be infamous.

He's already plastered on every single chicago paper today.

Since I live in Chi, I'm gonna go around screaming out "hey, its the fan, lets get him"!!!

Then watch as hundreds proceed to gather around

actually it did matter because Farnsworth got the sac fly which would have ended the 8th tied at 3. Not saying you are wrong but fact is fact.
