No the Cubs know Prior and the defense blew it. The fan had the right to that ball and Alou wouldn't have caught it anyway. They just don't want to take the blame for it is all. I'm sure that the fan made Alex Gonzalez drop the ball out of his glove and made Prior give up 4 runs.

Actually on Sportscenter the replay showed Alou had his glove right under the guys hand, so it was almost a given that he would have caught it. Obviously, the team you root for has no bearing on your judgment of this game does it?

Exactly. Damn, I wish they get off this guys case already. He was not out there on the field droping balls and throwing meatballs to the plate afterwards.

Only thing I say he did was change the tide of the game indirectly. Everyone made such a big deal about it that the momentum shifted instantly.

Yea, I think Alou would of caught it but we will never really know. Ohyea, and dont forget it would of only been 2 outs with a runner still in scoring position. Whos not to say that the next batter would of hit a sac fly.

Well actually since the Cards got elminated I had to root for the Marlins and Yankees. Curses aren't made to be broken. The Cubs are cursed. The Red Sox are cursed. The Tigers are cursed. It's just a part of baseball these days.

No one ever mentions the White Sox being cursed by the Black Sox scandal. Been an awful long time since they have won anything.

And how are the Tigers cursed? They won it all it '68 (you must know about that one ) & '84, that's twice in my lifetime.

No, I think you may have misunderstood what I was trying to say. When I saw your avatar I noticed it was Edmonds and you live in St. Louis. So I deduced that from the facts that were present, that you were a Cards fan and therefore would root against the Cubs and tend to blame the players for the loss because you want to see them lose. So I hope I cleared up the meaning of my last post with this one.

Well actually since the Cards got elminated I had to root for the Marlins and Yankees. Curses aren't made to be broken. The Cubs are cursed. The Red Sox are cursed. The Tigers are cursed. It's just a part of baseball these days.
