I know Cub fans are pissed but this is not the place to rant with constant expletives - everyone in this thread, chill out!

      Re: Cubs/Marlins Game 7 Thread

I was cheering for the Cubs from day one as well but I dont think they should deflect blame to one fan. He didnt affect the outcome of the whole series and it seems the media in Chicago is crucifying him. I read this great article on the Jim Rome website I thought summed it up perfectly. They brought this on themselves.

I am a Sox fan too, but I was pulling for the Cubs. Our late-season collapse against the Twinks should show all Sox fans that there are more important things than winning the inter-league series against the Cubs

If the Cubs had gone to the Series it would have raised the bar for baseball success in this town which would be a good thing for Sox fans. Especially while Williams is searching for a manager.

Let's face it, the Cubbies spending the big bucks on Dusty *did* make a difference regardless of his strategic blunders in the NLCS. When I hear rumours of Terry Francona or Buddy Bell being the next Sox manager, I cringe

With the Cubs choking the way they did I am afraid that the attitude that "all is well because the Cubs suck too" will persist.

He is my top choice and I am really hoping that Ozzie gets the job!

The guy has a ton of energy (like Tony Pena?) which is exactly what the Sox need now that Gandhi is finally gone.
