Man, I don't know if you can call what Grady Little did last night "managing".

I don't see what is so funny about that scene? I mean I'm sure you cried like a little girl when WVU lost to UM so get over yourself.

Well, for a guy who's got a sub 3 ERA every year since he's been on the Sox, I'd say he's getting the job done. True, he didn't have his best stuff this postseason, but he gave the Sox the chance to win EVERY game he pitched (ESPN). And to be fair, the Yanks do have the best team in the majors and asking ANY pitcher to consistently shut them down is probably asking for something impossible.

This is a weak argument. I wish more owners WERE like Steinbrenner and goes out and spends the money while keeping his farm system mainly intact. Big market teams are just that.. big freakin' market, and as such will generate much more revenue to be able to spend on players, coaches, and scouts. Does anyone say anything when the Mets payroll was 117 million, Rangers at 103, Dodgers at 105, Red Sox at 100, or the Braves at 106? They have spent almost as much as the Yanks (152), but they sure didn't spend it as wisely as the Yanks.
