What do you mean they don't deserve it? They came back on the best pitcher in baseball. They were down 4-0. I would say thats pretty deserving no matter what team I was rooting for.

For the last two weeks I have been getting so much crap for beeing a Yankee fan at work. Everyone else has wanted either the Sox or has told me that the Cubs were going to win it all no matter what. I got calls all the way up to the 7th inning. Then no calls after that. I can not wait to go into work tomorrow.

I grew up in NY when they had to worst record in baseball. Steve Balboni and Bam Bam Mulens were a few of the players. Everyone loved the A's in my high school. As far as Im concerned they cant win enough for how bad they were in the mid 80's early 90's.

I understand that does not compare to the years the cubs and sox have waited but since I have moved down south the Yanks are definately the underdog team to root for.

Tonights game was by far the best Sox-Yankees game I have ever seen.

Good to know. For some reason I thought that was a Cubs avatar, you know with the background resembling Wrigley's brick wall behind the plate, but it's Donnie Baseball there.

The way i saw it was that Pedro WAS getting it done, but he was gassed IMO. He was basically unhittable until that inning (besides the two Giambi HR's), and even though he was still hitting low 90's on the gun, he left a lot of pitches over the plate... this was before Matsui. When Grady went out, I thought FOR SURE that Pedro would be taken out and IMO that would have been the right move. But Pedro shook him off and said that he wanted to stay in. THAT'S what I expected from Pedro b/c he's a gamer and wants the ball in his hands. But as a manager in the postseason, you DO manage slightly differently than you do during the regular season. Even though Pedro shook him off, Grady's the freakin' manager. This isn't game 45 of the regular season, it's game 7!!!! He should know that his bullpen (which has been criticized ALL season long) has been dominating this postseason. You have Matsui (L), Posada (S), and Giambi (L) coming up. No way you leave Pedro in for those 3 hitters right after Jeter and Williams gets on base and his pitch count over 100. Pedro now is not the Pedro of 4-5 years ago. I think batters hit .300+ against Pedro after 110 pitches or so. All these things IMO, EASILY pointed to Pedro being pulled. (pitch #115 was Bernie's single) Whew! Long winded answer

Taking Varitek out was a bad move IMO as well. I also thought taking Ortiz out was a bad move too. But since neither guys were driven in, it was a wash.
