Re: Todays Transactions 2012
Uhh hello? Jose Canseco signs with the Worcester Tornadoes of Can-Am league.
The former AL MVP has signed with a team in the Canadian-American Association of Professional Baseball.
But Canseco will be on an MLB field today. He tweeted that he's attending the 100th anniversary celebration at Fenway Park.
Canseco also tweeted that the Rex need a designated hitter, and "I am ready, just need a tryout."Comment

Re: Todays Transactions 2012
The Red Sox will recall right-hander Clayton Mortensen from Triple-A Pawtucket before Wednesday's game.
He'll presumably fill the vacant spot on the active roster following the demotion of Lars Anderson. Mortensen, who was acquired from the Rockies in January for Marco Scutaro, has an 0.90 ERA and 10/4 K/BB ratio over 10 innings this season. Aaron Cook is set to be added to the active roster in the next 48 hours, so his stint with the big club with likely be brief.
Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine said during an appearance on WEEI in Boston that Will Middlebrooks will be in the starting lineup Wednesday night against the Athletics.
The Red Sox have yet to make the promotion official, but there is an open spot on the active roster following Lars Anderson's demotion to Triple-A. Either way, it's a pretty good bet that Kevin Youkilis (back) will be placed on the disabled list. Middlebrooks, 23, was hitting .333/.380/.677 with nine homers, 27 RBI and a 1.057 OPS over his first 24 games with Triple-A Pawtucket. He's a must-own in AL-only leagues as long as he's with the big club, but we wouldn't get carried away in mixed formats. Keep in mind that Middlebrooks will almost certainly be sent down as soon as Youkilis is ready to return.
Aaron Cook will start in place of Josh Beckett on Saturday against the Orioles.
Cook has exercised the opt-out clause in his contract, so the Red Sox are expected to add him to the active roster in the next 48 hours to prevent him from becoming a free agent. The original expectation was that Cook would pitch out of the bullpen, but he'll actually start in place of Beckett, who dealt with some unspecified soreness after his last start. Cook a 1.89 ERA and 13/11 K/BB ratio in 33 1/3 innings over five starts at the Triple-A level this season, but he isn't worth chasing in most fantasy leagues.ACCSportsNation.com - A Tradition Of Excellence...Then, Now, And Always!Comment

Re: Todays Transactions 2012
My good friend Kevin Mattison was called up by the Miami Marlins last night. Not sure if it's official yet since they had an off-day today, but it's awesome to see him make it.
Oh, and say hello to the best facial hair in Major League Baseball.

Re: Todays Transactions 2012
The Blue Jays signed Jamie Moyer to a minor league contract.
My respect for Toronto's organization has skyrocketed with having Vizquel and now Moyer. Not that I had anything to dislike about the Blue Jays before, but this is a nice touch and I'm glad to see Moyer might have another shot to do something before he retires.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment
