Loria took Reyes to Joe's Crab Shack, a deal is always made at Joe's Crab Shack.

I know the Marlins wanted to increase payroll by atleast $25 Million, I have no idea if that's how much they have to spend or was that just an ideal #. With the new stadium they will have an increased supply in revenue so I have no idea if that's going to factor in or not.

Presumably a Jose Reyes contract would take be $10-$15 million a year, and they are still interested in guys like Buerhle, Yoennes, Fielder/Pujols,etc. So I have no idea how signing Reyes would impact their approach the rest of the way, it could help lure some guys if they want to spend the money.

I honestly believe with the New Uniforms, logo, name, stadium, etc. That Loria wants to rebuild the image of the Marlins going into this coming season to get people excited, to get people to attend games(It worked with the Heat, sign some big names people kinda show up more)

I could honestly see them getting both Pujols too!!... Not a bad infield...

        Pujols - 1B
        Infante - 2B
        Reyes - SS
        Ramirez - 3B

        Then an outfield of:

        Morrison - LF
        Coghlan - CF
        Stanton - RF

If they can't fill seats this year then something is wrong with "fans" in Miami...

I think the Marlins will make a serious run at Mark Buehrle before they decide to make one to acquire Albert Pujols. And I still don't see any team successfully prying Pujols away from St. Louis despite numerous other teams' attempt to flirt with him during this early period of free agency.

Regardless, I think Jose Reyes signing with the Marlins is pretty much a done deal now.

Fans will sell out the place next year since it's new. Loria and the Marlins have to make a splash this year and sustain success for them to keep coming back. Miami is a unique city when it comes to sports since there is so much to do down there that they won't go to games if the team sucks.

I honestly doubt Pujols come to Miami, it may help that's he's from the Dominican but don't think that matters at this point.

You know what'll be really awkward if he was to sign with the Marlins? The Cards and Marlins share the same spring training facilities in Jupiter,FL(my hometown as well).

I'm hearing it's more likely that they sign Reyes/Cespedes over Pujols, but never know just have to let it all play out. If Fielder/Pujols isn't signed I'm thinking there is a good chance that LoMo moves to 1B and Coghlan over back to LF if he's healthy and Gaby Sanchez being traded for pitching

Or you keep Gaby at 1st, put Cespedes at CF and keep LoMo in the outfield. Both work. I like the direction this team is headed.

Marlins better sign those guys before the new uniform gets released. They will probably have to pay some extra money if the leaks are true.

It might not happen till the 4th inning, but by god will they show up if big names come.

Wouldn't be surprised if Cespedes spends a season in the minors like Chapman.

Then they can take a flyer on someone like Sizemore for a year. Or use Coghlan although I think Cogs is a bum.

Yeah I would just leave Coghlan at CF as a holdover until Cespedes is ready.

I don't want to eventually fall back in to the joke of a franchise the Phillies were before Utley, Howard, Hamels.

Papelbon is on a higher level than Madson, has more closing experience, and if Madson signs elsewhere, the Phillies will actually move up higher in the draft (Boston gets 30th pick, say Washington signs him they'll take their pick, which is higher up).

                                So it's a good deal.
