And that would be the best offense in baseball history. Tex, Cano, A-Rod, Granderson, Fielder. Good god.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

I think Kuroda's overrated but damn if the shoe didn't drop for the Yankees today.Comment

They may bring in someone for 1 year (Heyman mentioned Carlos Pena on twitter) but that's about it.Comment

Re: The Hot Stove League Thread
As fun as Fielder could be, I don't see it. Speculation is Yanks want to stay under $189 million in 2014 (I think) so they get a break on the luxury tax. Plus Cano's a FA pretty soon.

Re: The Hot Stove League Thread
I'm going to reserve judgement on trade yet. Montero is big time talent but so is Pineda. We desperately need any hitting we can get. I honestly don't know what to think, but I'll miss Pineda. Such a great young pitcher.
Yanks called about Felix but didn't get anywhere. M's tried to get Nova and Montero for Pineda + prospects but Yanks wouldn't budge.Comment

Mariners fans are not happy about this trade. I guess they forget that they need young bats. Plenty of nice pitching prospects from what I hear.Comment

Re: The Hot Stove League Thread
Sad to see Montero go, but at the same time the rotation was a much bigger need than having a DH. I pretty much gave up on having Montero as catcher, and while he can still rake, his value does take a hit with him only DHing, especially with the Yankees needing that spot eventually for ARod/Jeter to play at.
Only thing I'm worried about with Pineda is he is a big time fly ball pitcher with no big out pitch to lefties. His stuff is undeniable though so I'm hoping a changeup will eventually come along.
Haven't heard of him before today, but I see most scouting guys love Campos, although he is only in low A. Much higher upside than Noesi though so that isn't a big loss.
Rotation before today: CC, Nova, Burnett, Hughes, Garcia
Rotation now: CC, Kuroda, Pineda, Nova, Burnett/Garcia with Hughes in the pen with Joba/Soriano/Robertson/Rivera
Always amazed how these moves by Cashman come out of nowhere. Just an hour ago we heard Seattle is acquiring a big time young hitter and the deal is done an hour later and Kuroda is signed. He's like a ninja.
I'd be a fan of signing Pena to fill the DH spot now. Give me a platoon of Pena/Andruw Jones at DH.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment
