    Re: Marlins new uniforms

These remind me of like fad uniforms. Sort of like the Devil Rays uniforms when they first came out. Like they were cool at the time but then once that look passed they looked outdated and tacky.

I imagine these will have the same effect. Like the color scheme of the font is popular now, but it won't be something that will stand the test of time. Give it 5-6 years and these will be extinct.

I actually like these. Not a Marlins fan but I think they look pretty good.

I know what you mean. I didn't like the Devil Rays original uniforms but loved their 2nd set of uniforms where their primary color was dark green. Actually it was their 3rd set of uniforms they wore from 2005-2007.

My biggest problem with the Marlins new uniforms is the logo. Just too much!

The only jersey to say "Marlins" is the orange one. Neither the white nor any black alternative says that; the rest all say "Miami." While that may look better than Marlins on the jersey, I can't believe they actually have that.

There's only one reason I will like them, though: you made 'em, you keep 'em. No changing it around later after realizing that you're too different from the rest. Arizona did it, and now their color scheme is just too close to too many other jerseys. I appreciate the differentiation for differentiation's sake, even if they're terrible. If I permit them to change anything, it would be to have it say "Marlins" on their whites, and maybe to shrink the lettering in general. But no color scheme reiterations, please. This is your mess you made, and you have to live with it.
My friend told me this was the only way Miami would help pay for the new stadium was if they agreed to change the name to Miami Marlins and put more emphasis on the jersey's to show they play in MIAMI.

While I believe that's true for them to rename themselves as the "Miami Marlins," I don't know about the white home jerseys. There needs to be a rule that you either have your cap logo or your team nickname on the home jerseys (and yes, that includes the Rangers)

The uniforms don't bother me, but some of the stadium color choices puzzle me. The outfield walls are a weird, bright green. I think I saw some bright blue seats in the stands too...
