Addiction in reality isnt a laughing matter, but jokes about him meh, theyre just for a laugh.

Again though its sad when someone has this ammount of talent gets caught up in this stuff.
Flat out, im totally Envious much like Crash Davis in Bull Durham when he says "I got brains, but you got talent" its frustrating.
I cant support someone this dumb, never did before this either, Although the Biography was an entertaining read for the most part.

I find it hilarious that you try and protect every post of yours at the end by telling us your username. We get it. But making insensitive, stupid comments, whether it is your opinion or not, is not an excuse and people will call you on it.

I pray that he takes this as another lesson learned and moves on. I am an M's fan so I obviously root against the Rangers, but I think Hamilton is one of the good guys in baseball and is one of my favorite players. I respect the hell out of him and wish him nothing but the best.

You are most likely the only person in this entire thread who has "had a laugh" over him slipping up.

Not only that, but you have used personal messages to harass me personally about Josh Hamilton. Just because you have a certain username doesn't mean that you have free license to go around and gloating about people's illnesses. Unless you get jokes from cancer patients, the mentally ill, etc... There's nothing funny about a person who goes through alcoholism; this is the father of four who's having a crisis. What joke will you make about that?

What seems to be the story is that Hamilton had another relapse at Sherlock's (which is a pub) and had a couple drinks. Somehow, Ian Kinsler found out about the incident and went to the pub trying to get Hamilton away from the scene and trying to get him home. Hamilton later couldn't cover it up at all because of what Kinsler knew, so Hamilton told the Rangers about the incident.

It's a sad story, but it's far too common with alcoholics. They think they can have just one drink, and the next thing you know it spirals out of control. The only cure is abstainance, and it seems like Hamilton couldn't keep that in his mind Monday night.

There is no cure for addiction & abstinence does not equal recovery... As a recovering addict, I really hope Josh doesn't let this relapse take him back to the depths of hell.

Josh, Talk to your sponsor & always remember the shame isn't in the relapse, the shame is in not coming back to the program after a relaspe..

After listening to the press conference, it's obvious that Hamilton knows he screwed up. "To thine ownself be true" is the main message here, and he knows it. He just has to keep on being accountable to himself in order to succeed. MLB Network is reporting that the team has hired another accountability coach, so hopefully that works as well as Narron did here.

I hope this story has a silver lining. If anybody out there needs help battling an addiction, now is the time to get help. It's never too late to reform, and it will make you a better person to humble yourself and get help.

Bathroom lovin' - atta boy. That's one of the perks of being a star athlete, but he doesn't get to enjoy it because everyone will watch his every move thanks to his life story being beaten to death.

So he slipped up, everyone does. Yea, he should stay away completely from alcohol. But sometimes some things lead us to drink. He said it had to with a family member. I mean c'mon he has that horrible thing happen to him with the fan, and now this. It's pretty understandable.

HE IS AN ADDICT

No amount of drinking is going to solve personal problems. No amount of drinking is going to bring Shannon Stone back to life. No amount of drinking is going to help a recovering alcoholic. He has to be held accountable to his team, to the fanbase, and to all the people he has ever spoken to.
