The problem with the "non-move" was that from what I've read, the majority of fans that was watching the game wanted Pedro to be pulled. Even if the Sox lost after Pedro being pulled, Little would've been blamed but I don't think he would've been run out of town.

i hope he ends up somewhere in the AL and his team and the Bo Sox both make the playoffs. and then little's team elimnates them after being down 2-0. that would be poetic justice.President of the Devils Den

Re: Grady Little to be Fired- ESPN
Little didn't get them one game from the World Series, the players did. He has made bad decisions with pitching all year long, and all of last year too. I didn't think he was the guy to push the Red Sox over the top, but I don't know who they're going to bring in to do this now.Comment

Re: Grady Little to be Fired- ESPN
I think we all knwe this was going to happen. The only question I had is why they even waited a whole week to put his head on the guilotine. Was there ever any doubt? He made a call that arguably cost the team a chance at going to the World Series, he blamed the loss on the ghost of Bill Buckner and when all was said and done he put the last nail in his own coffin when says that he wasn’t even sure whether he wanted to continue as manager of the Red Sox.
I thought they were going to go get him in the clubhouse right after Game 7 of the ALCS. There have been worse managers, but there haven’t been a lot of worse decisions by a manager. Hes good but that call would have haunted him forever as Soxs coach.
The question now is who do you hire to manage that team? It’s not like the team is in disarray. You still have a very good team. The first question that needs to be asked in the interviewing process is, “Do you know when to pull out pitchers when the World Series is on the line? Are you going to earn your paycheck or are you going to leave it up to the pitcher?” If the guy can answer those questions correctly, they’re already moving in the right direction.Comment
