Jeez if that's the case I hope the Marlins just let Hanley walk/trade in 2014 or whatever.

Great...Now if Lawrie lives up to expectations the Jays are going to have to give him the world.

Damnit Cincy why did you have to do this?!

The Braves are screwed. Our TV contract is worth diddily.

It's a little extreme. But I applaud Cincy for going all out. Also if they didn't do this, they'd would of lost him to FA.

I would like to see how much of an impact a contract like that changes ticket prices, etc. for fans

It looks like a long season for New York Mets fans. It looks like a minor league roster.

And the worst part is that we're locked into it for like, 20 more years or something.

Well, we might as well just skip the regular season/playoffs...the Yankees are winning the whole thing now that Kentucky has taken the NCAA crown.

After reading that article you pointed to and the comments posted on it, I did a little more research on this deal. What a bonehead move.

No joke...if you read Braves bloggers you'd think it's the death of this franchise. I have seen folks talking about Atlanta becoming the Royals or something because of this deal. While it was a horrible move, the Braves have relied on minor league development for years anyway (Maddux really was the last big FA we signed).

Pujols just smacked the piss out of his 7th HR of the Spring.

Orioles lose against a community college team, not a big deal but still.

Baltimore Orioles manager Buck Showalter termed the event a "controlled scrimmage." The opponent used pitchers (including left-hander Tsuyoshi Wada) and a catcher from the Orioles roster. Major league stars such as J.J. Hardy, Adam Jones and Matt Wieters took only … Continue reading →

Season hasn't even started yet and I'm already sick of Bobby Valentine. This news today set me over the top.
