Oh whatever. I don't buy that crap. All of a sudden everything he suffered in his whole life is going to bother him during the NLCS? Gimme a break. The guy may have had a hard life, but that has nothing to do with him throwing pitches away.

Anyway, from what I heard he was already being converted into an outfielder and is pretty much done with pitching. He has great power and could be another Mark McGwire. Could be.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer

he was dominating double A.. and then he tore a ligament in his elbow.. he may have been in the majors in the second half if it wasnt for that..

he was also going back to the starting role.. he had about 3-4-5 starts in a row where he was absolutely dominant without throwing a single wild pitch.. a card fan on another board went down to talk to him and said he mentioned he recently got into the church and had sort of settled down and come to peace with everything.. dunno if that is the truth.
