Raaauuuuulllll Ibanez with a RBI-single that scores Robinson Cano to tie the game at 1.

Currently in the top of the 3rd inning.

Six K's for Ivan Nova through three innings. Retiring Howie Kendrick, Albert Pujols, and Torii Hunter all with the 3rd inning.

Bottom of the 3rd inning coming up.

Nova looks sharp tonight. That that breaking ball has a tight rotation, and the 2 seamer is really running in on righties.

Wouldn't it be something to get the score to 7-1.

You could hear Mike Scioscia say "Is he ready? He's just standing there.": In regards to Hisanori Takahashi in the bullpen. I found that to be funny.

This will probably be the first and only start for the Angels in Jerome Williams career.

            Angels have better options.

Actually, Williams started 6 games out of 10 appearances for them last year. Finished 4-0 with a 3.68 ERA and 1.36 WHIP. After I read your comment, my mind was like, "I thought Williams started for them late last year." Had to look it up, bk.

I really meant for this season and beyond. lol. Good catch though. I didn't really post it right.

I think the league has caught up with his revamped repertoire.

Gotcha. Oh I totally agree on this year and beyond. I was surprised he even broke camp with the team let alone with a spot in the rotation.

I heard the Dodgers turned a triple-play on them in the 9th. Should that not have happened?

8-1 Yankees thanks to a three-run homer from Derek Jeter. How do you like that.

Bottom of the 4th inning still, 0 outs.

Same here. I thought it would to Brad Mills or Garrett Richards. I expect it to be Richards soon.

You umpire screwed the Padres on that triple play.

BTW, Yankee stadium is a complete joke.

These next two innings or so are going to be interesting to me. I wonder how much more reign Ivan will have.

Just watched the replay of that sequence on MLB.com. Wow...that ball looked like it clearly hit behind home after it came off Guzman's bat. It even looked like it was still behind home but close to the firstbase line when the catcher picked it up. Plus it looked like the home plate ump was signalling a dead ball or something. Yeah I'd say the Padres got hosed.

I heard either Buster Olney, Tim Kurkjian, or Jayson Stark say on the noon BBT that MLB is likely going to have a revamped replay system starting in 2013. It's supposed to have essentially a replay umpire in a booth, or something like that, who can make a ruling and relay it to the field in a matter of seconds. This situation today would have been perfect for that.
