12-2, best record in baseball, best start since the 05 Dodgers, best AL start since the 89 Rangers. 8-game win streak, 10 straight road wins, 14 of 15 going back to September. Napoli homered in 5th straight game, tied with Hamilton and Granderson for AL lead.

Oh and they've now outscored their opponents 89-37.

Joe Thatcher and Luke Gregerson were both available and have proven to be better at these kinds of situations than Cashner. In fact, Cashner has seen the most appearances out of all the pitchers in the bullpen.

It feels like the philosophy for Black and Byrnes is that they're putting him out there a lot to try to justify trading Anthony Rizzo for a reliever and it's hurting them right now. That trade should've never happened, no reason to get rid of someone because you got an older prospect at the same position.

I disagree on Thatcher. I hate his game. They traded for Cashner for a reason, might as well use him to see what they got. They aren't going to be competitive no matter who they put back there. Let's see what Cashner can do.

I think they either projected Cashner as a back of the bullpen guy or a future starter. Agreed on the trade, but it is what it is.

Darnell McDonald should be playing center-field for the Red Sox. Apparently Cody Ross is the better option. I'm just a fan.

He's most likely headed to the rotation at some point, but probably not this year since he did miss a significant amount of time last year. Then again, maybe Bud Black knows what he's doing because of that.

In any case, looks like the Padres are finally done with Orlando Hudson. I can't believe he's making $8 million this year, money not well spent and of course that falls on Moorad since I think he was the one that offered him a contract. Logan Forsythe may get his shot as well as Parrino getting some more playing time (well deserved at this point).
