Marlins with a 3-0 lead after the 1st, this is new.

LoMo has that beautiful swing going now, hopefully it stays

Any update on Howard? I read that they both had a simulated S/T session a few days ago but I figure Howard is still a ways off.

They've both been rotting on my fantasy bench this year and I just noticed Goldschmidt was available in my league, I'm tempted to pick him up regardless.

I would pick him up if I were you. Howard may be back by mid-July. He's doing the simulated game thing right now. He had atrophy in his left calf muscle due to the achilles injury. He needs to continue strengthening his left leg before he can start a rehab assignment.

Mike Trout hit an absolute bomb tonight.

Angels are just 2.5 games back of the Rangers now.

Imo, Rangers are the better team, but the Angels are at least going to hopefully make it interesting.

I had a random thought this morning, what's up with the Angels Organization's top two prospects (historically), Mike Trout and Tim Salmon? Whose next...Brian Mahi-Mahi. I know bad schtick...couldn't resist though.

Is this where we talk about Ethier's extension?
What is it with the Dodgers overpaying for OF's? Well, just saying Andruw Jones and now Ethier.
$17 mil a year for a who guy has missed 20+ games the past 2 years, never finishing with an OPS over .900, and doesn't play exceptional defense(not terrible).
He's a good player and all, but holy cow, I was shocked to hear his contract extension numbers. Paying him that much, and he's already 30 years old so its not like he's going to get better really.

Phillies start a 3-game set with the Twins tonight. If they can't sweep this series or at least take 2 of 3, then that's a problem.

Considering how both of the teams have been playing recently, I'd say that you have it *** backwards.

I know I know, before the sabremetrics guys get on me, I like the deal for Ethier. And comparing him to Andruw Jones is just asinine. Plus, compared to what he was asking for, and the market price for these outfielders, it is not as bad.

Now, feel free to bash me with statistics I don't understand.

His OBP and his K% are the worst they have ever been this year. His BABIP is also higher than league average for sure. He is, however, on pace for the highest WAR of his career. I think you can understand those.

I just don't think paying that much for a 20/75/.290 (.850ish OPS) guy with injury issues is worth it.

Don't care, love Andre Ethier, foreign stats wont change opinion. Its not like LA is small market. We can swallow a bad contract if it turns out to be that.
