    Someone still managing in baseball.

It's nothing against La Russa, just a little weird to me.

Allen Craig with a 3 run homer.

This guy is so underrated. If he hadn't missed half the season he would have 20 homers and 60 rbis by now (slight exaggeration)

I'm not really into the fan voting since it usually feels like a popularity contest.

Thank you for that 2 run shot Hanley, no matter how good Bell may be of late I don't trust 1 run leads with him

Phillies are beginning to gauge interest in Cole Hamels from other teams. Asking price will be very high for Hamels of course. Phils want a package of 4-5 prospects. Some A- plus.

If the Phils do end up trading Hamels at some point, I wouldn't mind seeing them make a deal with the Rangers for Mike Olt and some other prospects. Phils need a third baseman who is major league ready or super close to it. Olt has some solid numbers at Double-A.

            .303 avg
            267 at-bats
            81 hits
            14 doubles
            1 triple
            21 homers
            60 RBI
            4 stolen bases
            46 walks
            77 strikeouts

I'd take that in this Phillies lineup right now.

Since Hamels is likely just a half season rental, I don't think the Phillies are going to get as much as they want. As a Rangers fan, I'd rather have Greinke or Garza, but Hamels would be fine. I'm not sure the Phillies would get much more than Mike Olt and one of Justin Miller/Justin Grimm/Tanner Scheppers from the Rangers. The Rangers didn't break the farm system in 2010 for Cliff Lee and I don't think they'll break the system for another rental.

So, uh, Pablo Sandoval was elected to start in the ASG although he has only played in 44 games this year.

Brett Lawrie just ran over the Angels catcher. The ump ruled that Lawrie avoided any sort of tag (though it looked to me like he got clipped with the glove). It was pretty dramatic. I'm surprised there wasn't an injury on the play.

As a Giants fan, I don't think Posey and Sandoval have any business being up in the top three in voting for their respective positions. This is even true for Posey. The guy hits in the #4 slot, so he's already bound to get more RBI's by nature (especially when he hits right behind Cabrera), and he only starts at catcher three or four times out of five in the starting rotation. Ruiz and Molina are heads above him IMO.

Someone mentioned popularity contest. Posey collected the most votes for an NL player ever. That's just messed up.

To add onto this, Jon Heyman tweeted that Brandon Belt was second in voting at 1B and Brandon Crawford was 2 second at SS. Not to mention that Freddy Sanchez got 2.28 million votes.

Arroyo gives up the lead right after they score to go ahead. Not pitching great after his last start was awesome.

The fan voting system just seems like a joke though. I have no idea why Uggla (.235 hitter) is starting over Altuve. This is coming from a Braves fan too. Something tells me though that Harper will win final vote.

Yeah it looks like the Jays got away with that one but um.....

The bullpen (and more specifically Francisco Cordero) ruined any chance of the Jays winning. Cordero needs to retire or be released ASAP! "sigh"

As for the ASG, I understand why Encarnacion wasn't picked by the fans or the commish's office/what have you but c'mon Ron Washington, GIVE THE MAN A CHANCE!

He could've at least put Encarnacion into the last spot voting but NOOOO it's obviously going to be Yu Darvish. Oh, and are you seriously telling me that 5 pitchers and no hitters were good enough for that final spot?
