Rays force Verlander to throw 29 pitches in the first inning and are already on the scoreboard. I'll take it...

So...big series with the Nats and Jack Wilson is starting for Dan Uggla at 2B? I know Dan is really struggling, but a struggling Uggla >>>>> than a super hot Jack Wilson.

Fredi's been wanting to give Uggla a day off. I don't know why he is now, though. Just about to hit the all star break, and playing against the first place team in the NL East.

Granted, Uggla's been hitting like scum. But as you said, he's still more than capable, at least compared to Jack. Maybe it can serve as some sort of a "wake up call" to him.

        BTW, lovely avatar.

I question the timing, but yeah, Uggla needs a day off or three.

I know...but what a weird time to give him a day off. Win the first two and give him Sunday off.

These are the last six pitchers that David Price has had to face off against:

              Tim Hudson
              Josh Beckett
              C.C. Sabathia
              R.A. Dickey
              Cole Hamels
              Justin Verlander

              Yikes!

EDIT- I forgot about the Washington game where he faced off against Wang... he was supposed to face Strasburg though but the dates ended up getting scrambled up. Still though, six of the last seven are nightmares.

'Aight Jack Wilson...you can't hit a lick and you're kicking it around like a pony leaguer. Come on, man!

JACK WILSON HITS A FLY BALL THE OTHER WAY, AND IT CLEARS WELL OVER...

                        This team is....interesting to watch.

I'm not sure what to think of Randall Delgado. I know he's a back-end starter and all, but it's really amazing how thoroughly medicore he is.

His fastball looks extremely hittable when he falls behind in the count.

Let's see if Heyward can break out of his mini 0-for-8 slump here.

Cliff Lee...mediocre once again. Marlins up 6-1 over the Phillies in the 6th.

Carlos Quentin, Nick Swisher, Shelly Duncan and now Desmond Jennings are the only four guys to ever hit multiple home runs off of Justin Verlander in a single game.

Jeff Francis is pretty good tonight, then again it's against the Padres. Oh well, time to pull him.
