Interesting thing to note...Padres Andrew Cashner has a no hitter going and straight DOMINATING but lets see the pitch count and how long he stays in since he's still in the process of converting. Has a pretty low pitch count right now.

I'm amazed that Cashner has been able to sustain his velocity even after moving back to starting. In the entire history of baseball you can count the number of starting pitchers on two hands who averaged 97+ MPH. His slider looks pretty nasty today as well.Bakin' soda, I got bakin' sodaComment

Re: 6/25 - 7/1 Game Discussion Thread
Thank goodness for MLB.TV. Going to be watching four games going into the top of the hour, including Cashner's no-hit bid. Astros should feel pretty bad with west coast pitching beating them up like this; makes me wonder how they'll feel moving to the AL West next season.
EDIT: The audio was still on the White Sox screen, and I started hearing Hawk's home run call. Looks like the Sox pulled ahead in the 9th.Last edited by Blzer; 06-28-2012, 08:49 PM.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: 6/25 - 7/1 Game Discussion Thread
Even if Cashner turns out to be a good number 2 or number 3 starter, eating up innings and posting an ERA+ of at least 110 or so and Anthony Rizzo falls on his face again and struggles, I still hate the fact we needlessly traded a young first-base prospect for a previously-injured pitching prospect we really did not need, even with hindsight and all these injuries.Comment

Yikes, my heart dropped on that Jeter shot. Chi Sox came away with one.
Oh, Cashner's no-hitter is gone as well.

Before giving up that HR, opposing hitters were 4 for their last 60 against Kimbrel.

Nice to see the return of the King with the shutout of Boston. 23 IP, 2 R, 30 K's, 3 BB's his last 3 starts.

How about that game winning grand slam by the Padres on Brett Myers? It wasn't a walk off, but still. Astros suck. sometimes I wish I was a fan of another team, but proud to be an Astro fan.Comment

Honestly, this team will suck for another 5 years or so no matter the league. The pitching is far from good, and the closer Brett Myers pegged a run in. This team wont win for a while to come.Comment

GMEN became the 17th team to have four or more consecutive shutouts since 1918. The Baltimore Orioles did it most recently, with five straight in 1995Comment
