Actually, with nearly identical walk rates and a slightly higher ISO for Ruiz, that's exactly what they mean.

Andy Pettitte fractures his ankle and is out at least 6 weeks. Same day that they announce CC to the DL, though his injury doesn't seem serious.

Agreed about the SLG %, but IBB are helping Ruiz's OBP and were it not for those, it would be lower than Molina's if averages were the same.

Good news for Giants fans...Timmy looked good today.

Amazing energy for the Phillies right now! Chase Utley hits a home run in his first at-bat back with the team, and Carlos Ruiz continues to kill baseballs with his 11th homer of the year and prove once again that he should be starting in the All-Star Game.

Seven innings. No runs. Four hits. Two walks. Eight strikeouts. Out of 115 pitches thrown, 70 were thrown for strikes. Not to mention all of his pitchers were #nasty

The guys on my TV just brought up a good point. Since R.A. Dickey is likely to be heading to the All-Star Game, who is going to catch him if Posey, Molina, and Ruiz are the guys on the team?

Same thing in soccer. And guess what? They're going to announce goal line technology within the very near future, and it will be in place for the 2014 World Cup. I know it isn't the same sport, but it's the same concept, and soccer is actually even more archaic and curmudgeon-like when it comes to things like this if you can believe it.

It's time for baseball to enter the real world too.

EDIT: And as we complain about the ridiculous fan voting for the All-Star game yet again, there needs to be a change one way or the other. Either make the World Series home field advantage based on actual team performance or make it so the actual best players are determining the advantage.

Dickey isn't like usual knuckleballers. His knuckler comes in a lot faster and has less movement than what we've ever seen. It isn't as much of a crapshoot like usual. Any of them will probably do a fine job catching him.

Mike Trout another highlight reel play in the outfield tonight. He's raised his batting average to .343 with another 3 for 4 night with 3 runs scored and their only in the top of the 7th.

Best young OF'er in the game and he's 20 yrs old.

At first I was impressed with his leaping ability, but then I saw they were in Baltimore. Still an amazing play though.

It's seriously like Venters thinks he can just throw it down the pipe and nothing will happen...if I see one more of his sloppy benders knee high over the plate I'll throw something.

Great play no matter where it was. And he has ridiculous leaping ability. He's got NFL DB type athleticism and speed.
