The Orioles are done. It was a fun two months, but they're done. They're getting embarrassed by one of the worst hitting teams in the majors.Comment

I almost choked on my drink when I read this title "Josh Outman could be out of Rockies’ rotation after latest outing" and I asked out loud "Could be?". Outman should have been out awhile ago, he's a bullpen guy.Aaron

Re: 7/2 - 7/8 Game Discussion Thread
Carp's done for the rest of the year.
Carpenter visited Dallas-based specialist Dr. Gregory Pearl last Thursday to discuss his alternatives as he confronts thoracic outlet syndrome, a rare condition that compresses nerves and blood vessels in a region between the collarbone and rib cage.
Resistant to surgery when the same condition forced his shutdown in August 2008, Carpenter has been told he likely requires the procedure to extend his career.
Surgery requires removal of his first rib, the release of scalene muscles in his neck and freeing the nerves that make up his brachial plexus, a bundle of nerves that runs from his neck beneath his collarbone to his shoulder. Carpenter has pitched with numbness in his right forearm since the 2008 episode but has not appeared in competition since working an industry-most 273 innings last season.
Standard rehab for such surgery is six months, meaning Carpenter had to decide on having the procedure this month in order to recover before next spring training.Comment

Trevor Bauer vs. Andrew Cashner tonight in the desert. Should be an exciting pitching matchup.Comment

Sad to hear, it looks like his career is gonna end up being one of those "what could have been" things as he was injury prone early on and it looks like he's now going to be an injury concern in the back end of his career.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

*sigh* Carpenter.
Hopefully the Braves can win today. Our offense typically bounces back on Tuesdays after disastrous Mondays.
Chipper named to the All-Star team to replace Kemp! That means Michael Bourn must be voted in as the Final Vote. Should be on the team anyway. I'd rather have him named to the All-Star team than Chipper. Chipper would have won the Final Vote.Comment
