Our best bet would be to try and trade/dump Uggla in the offseason, something similar to Hanley where it's a salary dump(if we're lucky enough to get someone like Eovaldi back all the better) then play Prado at second, and find someone for left field, left fielders with similar or better hittings stats to Uggla are a lot cheaper than 13 million and not to hard to find.

I think if Uggla didn't try for home runs all the time he could probably be a better hitter overall. It is easier to hit home runs if you know you could easily just make contact and drive a gapper.

the Uggla situation reminds me of Andruw Jones. Andruw could be mess at the plate, but he would save you so many runs on defense. The game last night versus the Nats was ooh wee. I did not see the play yet where he committed the game winning run for the other the team. Grant he have not had that bad of a moment in the field for the Braves.

He will be here as long as Fredi is the Manager. He defened Fredi in Florida when Hanley Ramirez was trying to get him fired. So they're linked at the hip in the ATL...

Man I still remember that All Star game where he made what, 3 errors and cost the NL? That was freakin BRUTAL.

He still has a .350 OBP despite his .216 batting average.

Delmon Young would have to hit .375 to have a .350 OBP.

It could be worse, Braves fans.

Yeah well, that doesn't make us feel any better about it.

The ******* better wake up in September or he'll permanently be on my **** list forever. This is why I didn't want him. Ugh.

Word is that Uggla might not get many starts at 2B the rest of the way. Prado is to be the regular now. I'd still rather have Uggla in the game than Jose Constanza in LF.

Yeah that is tough one. I was thinking of that situation last night. Fredi is trying to save his job. He is trying to do all he can to put a winning product on the field. And that is not with Uggla in the starting lineup.

We will see who will be playing second or third base next year. Uggla is not happy at all, but two years in a row of a batting swoon. I personally think Fredi should have sit him earlier season when Uggla did not want to take a day off.

I hope this means Uggla won't be a sort of concern in the clubhouse.

We will see. When Brian Jordan and Jerome on Fox sports pregame Uggla stated, " he was contributing to the team winning ways earlier in the season." So I would he is not happy at all...

If he is a problem, tell him to go sit his but at home and don't come to the ball park unless he is going to be a team player. Tell him he can play again when he agrees to just trying to hit singles and put the ball in play.

I am glad to see us Braves fan back the organization on this move. I must admit Uggla in his slumping at the plate. He has always hustle out a ground ball out. Hopefully we will see that 25-35 HR guy with RISP for the remainder of his contract.

I think what is different about this big signing of Uggla. For years big time FA's like Texeria, Sheffield and others had strong regular season, but miserable Post Season. Maybe he will stand out during the post season. Uggla will get his shot again before the year is out..
