Re: 7/30 - 8/5 Game Discussion Thread
Speaking of homerism..... listening to the Nats broadcasters makes my ears bleed. I'm clearly not jealous of them. I just hope the organization isn't losing money by paying them too much. I'm thinking $25/game and $3.00 in coupon vouchers for the vending machines outta do 'er.
Are they as bias or more bias than Hawk? Now that would be an accomplishment. I think BK is right though, that seems to be the norm nowadays, although some make it more obvious than others. My Teams
College: Michigan Wolverines
NHL: Detroit Red Wings
NBA:Detroit Pistons
MLB: Detroit TigersComment

They're pretty bad. And bk... I don't think $3 in vouchers is the norm.
Actually, and this is gonna sound like homerism, if you really listen to Philly broadcasters (can't speak for NBA as I don't watch it any longer), in hockey as well, they are typically highly complimentary of opposing players not only making good plays, but in regard to their attributes as they know of them. Since they have Keith Jones and Gary Thorne for Flyers broadcast, they know they will have national spots to do and simply can't afford to sound like homers.
Watchin' this Robbie Ross kid relieving for Texas. Really seems to take charge on the mound and he should be real good for time to come. He was also interviewed about giving up his number for Dempster coming on the team. He had no pressure to do so and just yielded to the veteran who's had the jersey number he's had for quite some time. Seems like a good kid.Last edited by daflyboys; 08-01-2012, 09:52 PM.Comment

Edward Mujica makes his Cards debut with a 1-2-3 inning, hopefully he can be a reliable guy for the 6th or 7th since that's the spot our pen has been the worst this year, if we can get to Boggs and Motte were ok.Favorite Teams:
NCAA- University of Illinois Fighting Illini
NFL- Cleveland Browns
MLB- St. Louis Cardinals
NBA- Boston Celtics
NHL- Chicago Blackhawks

In case I already missed it or will miss it, could somebody who watches that HBO or Showtime thing on the Marlins tell me about how the Mujica trade was for him or his buddy that was sent down? They claimed to be inseparable just a few weeks ago and I want to know how they feel now.Comment

Entertaining offensive game. As a pitcher you'd have to hate to face either line-up. Pretty strong top to bottom. Cruz absolutely scorched one about 450! Ridiculous.

Nate Schierholtz has a career .864 OPS in Citizens Bank Park; small sample size as its only 32 PAs. His OPS career @ AT&T was only .727.
Schierholtz BABIP @ CBP is a putrid .227...guess he's been unlucky there too. Maybe we see a different Schierholtz from what we knew him as in San Fran?Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment
