Never count the Rays out of a game. Never.

September 29, 2011 (and to a lesser extent, tonight) is proof positive of that.

The Jays had all kinds of chances to win yesterday afternoon but couldn't punch the tying run through. Actually, it probably shouldn't have gone to that as Gose lost the ball in the air and then Cruz hit the 2 run HR.

I really hope the Jays lock Vilanueva up with a long term contract and make him a SP. The guy really deserves it but I have a feeling some team will wildly overpay for his services and he'll be gone

Alright. That was a complete miss by Jeff Karstens. A six year old can make that throw.

Michael Young with a big day today....5 RBIs, triple shy of cycle, and hit his 1st HR in 89 games.

Brave's outfield playing like Little Leaguers today...3 balls drop in the 8th and 9th because they lost them in the sun. Ridiculous.

Eric Hosmer doing his best Bill Buckner right there.

Thanks Eric! Game tied at 2.

Well, as long as you're not sounding like my dad. He's saying replace Heyward in the outfield because he can't catch the ball.

I don't think he realizes what the sun is doing to him on these plays. I do wish there were ways to circumvent missing those, even still.

Luis Cruz isn't that bad, plus he hit another today.

Well, the first one was inexcusable. He has a glove on his hand and he wasn't even using it. The second one he did everything he could and it still got him. Both Johnson and Bourne jacked up the 3rd one...big difference in this game, but it doesn't matter if the 0 stays on the board.

Over the last 4 days combined, the Rays have scored 27 earned runs in 17.1 innings against the combination of Haren/Weaver/Wilson/Greinke in Los Angeles.

This is ridiculous. The defense is so outstanding in this game, yet the offense can't score one lousy run.
