    Not a lot of chest pounding by the Skank fans on this board over this signing. They're so used to buying a new superstar every year that they're 'ho hum' about it. Amazing.

      Believe it or not, I agree with you on a lot of things you say about the Yankees. I'm glad we have an owner who does what it takes to win, but I'm not sure this is the right way to do it. Yankees have always had a high payroll, but when they were winning championships, most of the money was spent on retaining players. I don't think it's a conicidence that we haven't won a championship since our first major free agent signing (Mussina). On paper, the Yankees are better than anyone, and this year in the playoffs should have rolled over everyone. But it's hard to do when you have a so many different free agents every year.
