Meh, I don't care what technically is or isn't counted. To consider a play-in game "the playoffs" is asinine. Let them go to a best-of-three with this and maybe, just maybe I'd consider it "making the playoffs".

So I'm going to bawl when Chipper plays his last game, be it happy tears or sad tears. None of this "dusty in my room" BS. I've already accepted it.

Cubs are 0-14 on the road against NL West teams this year. I would ask how is that even possible, but it's the Cubs.

You know, I might not feel too bad if some team grossly overpays Villanueva next season. He's the definition of a swing guy who can start 15 or so games for you but he won't cut it as a full time starter for any team.

Anyways...2 out of 4 against the O's is not bad.

Fernando Rodney just tied the Rays' club record for most saves in a season with 45.

                          What a year he's had.

Who ever is the bullpen coach of the Rays deserves a raise.

Tigers 1 up on the ChiSox. Hopefully the Rays will do significant damage to them.

The stats indicate Doug Fister struggles pitching day games.

Not today. 0 runs through 6 IP and has struck out the side in back to back innings, 7 straight Ks overall.

update: make it 8 straight Ks, new Tigers record.

9 straight now, new AL record

Is it weird that the only reason I want Chicago to win the AL Central is because there's never been a Yankees/White Sox series before? (The White Sox are the only still-existing pre-expansion team in either league to not play the Yankees in the postseason; New York has also never faced the Blue Jays, Rays, Astros, Rockies, or Expos/Nationals.)

I say yes. Yes, it is weird.
