For his birthday my brother's wife got him tickets behind homeplate to all 3 of Chipper's last 3 games...jealous.

Chipper is a class act, great model for younger players, and one of the best switch hitters to ever play the game, he'll be missed.

Watching Verlander pitch to Jeff Francouer is like watching a grand chess master play against a 2nd grader...it's really way, way too easy.

I really hope the Rangers can do something with Michael Young this offseason. If they can't, it's going to be another painful season of him hitting 5th...

Easily the second best switch hitter ever now IMO.

                I'd go:

                1- Mantle
                2- Jones
                3- Murray
                4- Alomar
                5- Rose

Yikes, I just looked up the Rangers splits. The 5th spot in the order is the worst producing spot in the lineup (.701 OPS), even worse than the 9th spot. That's effing ridiculous.

Meanwhile, the 7th spot has been the third most productive (.841 OPS), and the 8th spot (.804 OPS) has been the fourth!

Haha...Indians. Adam Dunn hits an 0-2 pitch out of the yard for a 3-run homer (his 2nd of the night) and it goes from a 3-2 game to 5-3. How do you throw ANYTHING in the same zip code to Dunn when he's 0-2?

How do you throw anything hittable to anybody on an 0-2 count?

Yeah that totally deflated my mood. It was like he tried to sneak one past him. Newsflash, you can't sneak anything past Dunn, make him swing at trash and get himself out.
